Recipe Guest Post - Protein & Chai

Somehow I feel like we’re already in December and Thanksgiving just flew by, Christmas is right around the corner, and the year will be pretty much over - because that’s what 2021 is doing to my brain.

Woah, okay. I won’t get ahead of myself. Let’s just focus on the present…

…And the present is calling for some gingerbread! And some chai tea. Mmmm.

Sound good to you? I have something that will make it even better. (Hold on to your socks, because I’m about to blow them right off.) A gingerbread chai protein shake.

It almost sounds too good to be true. Now you can get into the holiday spirit and recover from your amazing workout all at the same time–and it tastes delicious, too.

Thanks to Sarah from Ginger in the Kitchen, who actually got the recipe from Gwenyth Paltrow’s website Goop, you can make this super easy protein shake with minimal effort. Gwenyth Paltrow may not be a Cordon Bleu trained chef, but Sarah is! So trust her judgment on this.

There’s not too much sugar, a bunch of protein, and just enough caffeine to get you through the rest of the day.

2 tablespoons almond butter

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons ground ginger

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You could also let the tea cool and add some ice for a frozen shake!
